Tormore 12 Year Old Highlands, Speyside
Whiskey pages.com review, `Repackaged and offered as a 12-year ld by its new owners, Chivas Bros, Tormore is a welcome addition to the shelves of many of our major supermarkets, having been neglected as a single malt by Allied Domecq. Tormore distillery is a showpiece affair situated close to the River Spey and the village of Cromdale. For many years, Tormore suffered by association with the once extremely indifferent Long John blend, but the make is clearly much improved of late. Caramel on the nose, with hints of lemon and mint, mildly spicy, gentle and enticing. It possesses a good weight of body, and a creamy, honeyed mouth feel. Fudge and mixed spices, notably ginger, dry in the increasingly complex finish. A seriously good Speyside dram for too long one of the region's hidden secrets.`
