Dave Broom Whiskey magazine, `Nose: Big smoke. Quite fragrant with cigar smoke, heather, chocolate covered raisin, liquorice, walnut and sweet mash underneath. Palate: Robust, dry and slightly perfumed a hint of lavender (though this is reduced with water). Smouldering peat, hard toffee. Finish: Little perfumed. Comment: The nose is fantastic, like the fug in an old Scottish pub: coal fires, cigarette smoke, damp clothes. The perfume pulls the score down.`
