Sixty percent of the wine was aged in French oak for 12 months. A glass-coating opaque purple, it displays a perfumed nose of cedar, cinnamon, violets, black cherry, and black currant. Full-bodied, smooth-textured, and plush on the palate, it has layers of savory fruit, some underlying tannin, and excellent balance.
