93RP The estate’s top selection, the 2003 Amarone Campo dei Gigli, is an awesome effort. A dark ruby, it exhibits notable purity and depth in its dark fruit, licorice, chocolate, spices and blackberries. It offers superb balance in a sumptuous, lush style. The Campo dei Gigli is 70% Corvina/Corvinone, 20% Rondinella and 10% Croatina and Oseleta grown on a hillside vineyard. The wine saw three years of aging in French oak. The use of French oak gives the wines their characteristic textural richness. Anticipated maturity: 2007-2015.
