2003 Scopetone Brunello di Montalcino
90ST. “Deep red. Currant, smoke and nutty oak on the slightly roasted nose. Quite dry and nutty in the mouth, in a distinctly traditional style, with suggestions of mint and menthol and fruit in the background. A Brunello with solid structure and density, finishing with firm, dusty tannins that avoid coming off as astringent. With aeration, this showed fresher dark berry and mineral flavors and gained in vibrancy.”
